We were up at 7:00 for breakfast and disembarked at 8:30. We had signed up for a tour of Barbados because our flight did not leave until 3:45. The tour was good and we arrived back at the airport around 1:00. Unfortunately, our flight to Miami was delayed several times. By the time I got to Miami I had missed my connecting flight and had to stay in Miami until I could get a flight out the next morning. However, my sister was able to make her connection and returned to Washington DC about 1:00 am.

Unlike every other morning where we had woken up to beautiful scenery, today when I looked out the porthole all I saw was a container ship. This was a little disappointing. We were docked at the shipyard.
My sister and I decided to walk to town. The town was no different from any other big city. It was big, crowded and commercialized. This was my least favorite port. We walked around for a couple hours and went back to the ship.

Ile de Saintes was a pleasant surprise. It was a quaint little village with many shops. I had been told this was the best place to go shopping for souvenirs. The local people were very friendly and helpful. While in town, we ran into Tatiana, the ship receptionist, and she gave us advice on what shops to go to. She was absolutely right. We spent a good portion of the morning walking around the town. Then we went back to the ship for lunch and then to the beach. The beach was very small but the snorkeling was pretty good.

Today we are in St. Kitts which is the most beautiful place we have been so far. We did not sign up for an excursion today. Instead we were going to hang out on the beach and go snorkeling. Also, we wanted to go on the Island Safari in the Zodiac. Unfortunately, we missed the Island Safari (we were running late). However, we were able to convince Tonja, a member of the sports team, to take a few of us out even through it was over. She agreed and what a ride it was. Today was my big day to try Zip Lining, a new experience for me. We started the day by taking the tender to the marina. From there we walked to Nelson’s Dockyard (a historic site) and walked around for about an hour. After that we walked to the beach for the Beach BBQ set up by the Royal Clipper.
After lunch our bus had arrive to take us to the rain forest for our Zip Lining Adventure. Prior to leaving I had met the owner of the Zip Lining Company and after a long discussion about the safety of his lines (apparently doubled lined) we headed to the site. We woke up to another beautiful day. We went snorkeling in Champagne Cove which was okay but the water was a little hazy. Then we headed to the rain forest to see Trafalgar Falls. It was raining but according to the tour guide, it rains almost every day. That area gets on average 350 inches of rain a year. This was a great tour and our guide Ophelia was wonderful. We had a good lunch on the island and then went back to the ship.

Today we are moored in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. We woke up and enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet. At 10:00 a.m. we had a life boat drill. Afterward we got our snorkel gear and prepared for the excursion we had signed up for. Our excursion was horseback riding at the International Pony Club. We rode across the island and on the beach. With my bags packed the day before, I got up at 3:30 a.m. to catch my 6:00 a.m. flight to Miami. Once in Miami I met my sister and we continued onto Barbados. The plane was delayed about an hour and half leaving Miami but this was okay because the ship did not set sail until 9:00 or 10:00 that night. Once we arrived in Barbados the customs line took quite awhile to get through. While locating our luggage we were approached by a gentleman, Tom, who advised that our transfer was waiting for us.
